Sharing is an important part of the ExtendedBeta community. Below are some of the ways that the personal information you provide may be shared with other ExtendedBeta members or the public.
ExtendedBeta Community Profiles - Your profile is your means of identifying and promoting yourself within the community. You have complete control over the information posted in your profile. By default, profiles are only visible to other community members, but can be made publicly viewable, at your option.
ExtendedBeta Buzz - By adding a twitter or blog link to your profile page with the "include in buzz" box checked, content posted to your twitter and/or blog feed will automatically be posted in part or whole to the ExtendedBeta Buzz webpage. The goal of the ExtendedBeta Buzz is to provide one location where the voice of the entire community can be aggregated. Participation in the ExtendedBeta Buzz is a means of self promotion within the ExtendedBeta community and the public at large, as the Buzz is accessible by the public.
Local Events - An important part of being a member of ExtendedBeta is participation in local events. Face-to-face networking is critically important to the success of any community, even online communities. When you participate in an event, your profile will be added to the event attendance list which is visible only to other community members. Attendee lists serve the purpose of maximizing face-to-face networking opportunities through in-advance preparation. Presentations that you propose for or give at an event may be made available to the public in connection with the event for the purposes of event advertising and promotion. Votes or comments on presentations will be visible only to ExtendedBeta community members.
Communications - Communications may be sent to you at your email and/or postal address that are related to community announcements, contacts from other memebers, and site update notifications. You have the ability to limit these communications using the settings in your profile.
We will strive to keep your information secure. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
